Farmer Brothers has an excellent opportunity for a Quality Control Technician I (2nd Shift 3pm to 11:30pm Monday through Friday ). The Quality Control Technician is responsible for performing a variety of quality control tests/inspections on products, materials, components, parts, etc., at various stages of the production process to ensure compliance with quality and reliability standards. This person records statistical data and analyzes data and writes summaries to validate or show deviations from existing standards. She/he recommends modifications to existing, or suggests new, standards, methods and procedures.  The QC Tech provides leadership and technical support with an emphasis on consumer requirements, continuous product quality and productivity requirements.


  • Prepares coffee for cuppings: weighing, grinding, pouring, tasting, note taking, follow up and clean up
  • Roasts coffee for cuppings: preship, offer, arrival samples
  • Performs green grading of coffee samples based upon a rotating schedule by origin
  • Helps to maintain a clean and organized coffee lab
  • Performs tests as needed that include, but not limited to, pressure, oxygen level,
  • weight, proper packaging being used. Will use the following equipment to
  • conduct tests: oxygen analyzer, pressure tank, scale, and other instruments as required.
  • Record readings from tests on QC sheets.
  • Consistently inform operator and team members of all quality control issues.
  • Complete all appropriate paperwork at end shif
  • Keep work area clean at all tim
  • Comply with company policies and procedures at all times.
  • Performing inspections of incoming raw material, in-process and final product
  • Maintain a close working relationship with production personnel to provide a
  • smooth, efficient production flow of quality products
  • Assist other Supervisors/ Managers with projects as needed.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and dedication towards company.
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor and/or Manager.


  • High School diploma or GED.
  • 0-2 years of experience in coffee, with some roasting and cupping experience preferred
  • Minimum of 1-2 years operating Windows and associated Microsoft Office applications, including: MS Word and Excel; experience with Access preferred.
