    Farmer Brothers has an excellent opportunity for a Route Sales Associate to support the coffee and tea route based business.  This RSA sells and delivers coffee, tea, and related products to our customers as assigned. This role provides route relief as required and is responsible for providing great service to our customers. When on route, the RSA ensures customers are stocked, serviced as scheduled, and that the beverage station is set to standard.  When on route, The RSA consistently executes the Farmer Brothers customer call process (The Farmer Brothers Way to Sell) to drive customer satisfaction and loyalty. The RSA may perform other duties as assigned including assisting in warehouse operations, accounts receivable collections, and customer service activities.The qualified candidate will have the opportunity to learn the business from the ground up with the potential for career advancement. The Route Sales Trainee will learn the organization’s policies, products and/or services, as preparation for sales responsibilities. In this role you will study sales techniques by reading manuals and working in the field with more experienced sales representatives. This role will also be responsible for providing first-class customer care service to all customers.

     

    Responsibilities

    • Provide “White Glove” Service to our Customers. When assigned to a route, The RSA will deliver, replenish, and rotate beverage station products on each call. This role will ensure the equipment is clean and in working order, executing a minimum of one CQC (Cup Quality Check) per day. The RSR will execute the “The Farmer Brothers Way to Sell” call process, including recapping for the customer all services provided. The RSA is responsible for escalating customer issues quickly to the DSM and ensuring customer satisfaction.
    • Deliver All Scheduled Stops Daily. The RSA will have a set schedule of customers to deliver each day and will ensure that all customers receive delivery as scheduled. When on route, this role manages invoices, inventory, and collections daily.
    • Increase Revenue per Stop. When on route, the RSA is responsible for increasing Revenue per Stop through identifying and closing distribution voids on core products, executing seasonal and LTO promotions, executing pricing actions, and ensuring the beverage station is set to standard.
    • Assist Management in Achieving FY Goals. Notify DSM of any inefficiencies, customer dissatisfaction or opportunities found while running route relief. Assist DSM on inventory cycle counts, warehouse duties and customer related matters as assigned. Become familiar with our brewing equipment and learn to make basic repairs or adjustments. Make sales calls when time and opportunity allows.

    Qualifications

    • Route delivery experience a plus
    • Proficient in assessing customer needs; customer service background preferred
    • Mechanical aptitude
    • Ability to lift and carry products weighing up to 60lbs.
    • Knowledge of the food service industry
    • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
    • High School Diploma or G.E.D. required

     

    The successful candidate will be required to complete a background check (including, but not limited to, employment verification, criminal history check and education verification), a pre-employment drug screen and DOT physical.
