    Sr. Planner, who under general direction, uses DRP, MPS, CRP, and MRP plans and specifications to produce detailed schedules, material requirements lists, load plans, and specifications to produce detailed schedules, material requirements lists, load plans, and ordering plans for the distribution of products.   Controls finished goods stock levels and inventory movements to satisfy customer requirements.  Maintains and adheres to inventory policies with respect to lead times, safety stocks, order patterns, and customer fill rates.  Works with Manufacturing, Distribution, and Transportation Managers to arrange product movement in the most efficient and effective method.  Works closely with Sales and Demand Planning to establish and meet customer inventory expectations.  Prepares and analyzes reports for Operations, Transportation, and Production schedules.  Uses root cause analysis to find solution to issues and exhibits continuous improvement mindset to bring new ideas to current processes.  

    Responsibilities

    • Plan the Manufacturing to Distribution Center transfers of manufactured and purchased finished goods inventory with the goal of lower transportation and warehouse handling cost, lower inventory obsolesces expense, and achieving a 98.5% or higher fill rate. 
    • Develops a Lean Manufacturing strategy to optimize operations and cross-functional efficiency. 
    • Establishes inventory policies for optimization of lead times, safety stock, turns, and order quantities. 
    • Identifies manufacturing plant capabilities and capacities, assists with requirement loading, and monitors schedule adherence. 
    • Manages inventory builds using theoretical and demonstrated capacities to connect MPS with DRP.
    • Enhances and develops rough cut and finite scheduling and schedule attainment metrics. 
    • Places orders using order minimums and multiples (pallet layers and full pallets) to create efficient order quantities for picking, shipping and receiving. 
    • Responsible for maintaining DC Finished Goods Inventory levels based on ERP messages.  Must understand safety stocks, order minimums, order multiples, lead-times, and other planning data for all Distribution Centers. 
    • Manages the short shelf life inventory at DC's and transfer inventory to DC's with demand.  
    • Manages orders to maximize the cube utilization on the weekly warehouse delivery schedules to minimize transportation cost.
    • Interactes with Production Managers, DC Managers, Transportation, Sales, and Marketing on inventory availability. 
    • Produces daily, weekly, monthly and ad hoc reports that are used to run the planning function.
    • Designs and produces daily, weekly, monthly and ad-hoc reports that are used to run the planning function. 
    • Designs and produces daily, weekly, monthly and ad-hoc reports as required. 
    • Documents and standardizes processes in planning group. 
    • Integrates the Supply Chain function with Manufacturing scheduling. 
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • 8+ years of related experience 
    • Bachelor's degree required, however additional years of related experience are acceptable in lieu of degree. 
    • Knowledge of principles of planning, scheduling, shop floor controls, production, bills of materials and routings, and inventory management. 
    • Knowledge of mathematical and statistical data analysis.
    • MS Office with proficiency in Excel.
    • JDE familiarity a plus. 
    • Strong written and verbal communicaion and interpersonal skills.
