  • Overview

    A Planning Coordinator, who under general direction, uses DRP and MRP outputs to produce Purchase Orders and inter-company inventory transfers, expedited shipments, and a balanced inventory plan.  Controls finished goods stock levels and inventory policies with respect to lead times, safety stocks, order patterns, and customer fill rates.  Works with Manufacturing, Distribution, and Transportation Managers to arrange product movement in the most efficient and effective method. 


    • Analyzes DRP reports to assess stock levels, future forecasts, velocity analysis, and action messages to maintain service levels.
    • Plans the Distribution Center to Distribution Center transfers of manufactured and purchased finished goods. Responsible for maintaining DC Finished Goods Inventory levels based on ERP messages.
    • Analyzes and plans inventory with the goal of lower transportation and warehouse handling cost, lower inventory obsolesces expense, and achieving a 98.5% or higher rate.
    • Places orders using order minimums and multiples (pallet layers and full pallets) to create efficient order qualtities for picking, shipping and receiving.
    • Reviews safety stocks, order minimums, order multiples, lead-times, and other planning data for all Distribution Centers. 
    • Builds and analyzes finished goods demands to mazimize the cube utilization on the weekly warehouse delivery schedules to minimize transportation cost.
    • Reviews DSOH metrics to minimize inventory obsolescence and distressed inventory.
    • Interacts with Production Managers, DC Managers, Transportation, Sales, and Marketing on inventory availability.
    • Produces daily, weekly, monthly, and ad hoc reports as designed by Planner or Management.
    • Perform other duties as assigned. 


    • 2+ years of related experience.
    • Bachelor's degree a plus; High School or GED required.
    • Knowledge of principles of planning and inventory management.
    • MS Office with proficiency in Excel.
    • JDE familiarity a plus.
    • Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong analytical, follow through and organizational skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple, concuurent tasks and meet strict deadlines.
