  • Overview

    The Quality Commercialization Lead will be primarily responsible for new product launches from start to finish for internal and co-manufacturing production. The Quality Commercialization Lead will communicate project scope and launch lead time requirements to internal and external stakeholders and will be responsible for helping management of quality and lead time factors through each stage of the process. They will also be responsible for managing, and executing all assigned quality systems. This includes working with corporate personnel, manufacturing and plant quality staff. 


    • Works closely with the supply chain, product marketing, R&D, account management and other support departments to define product requirements and execute commercialization of new products and/or product improvements.
    • Pays close to detail to effectively update and communicate project plans and critical project tasks with appropriate internal and external stakeholders. 
    • Builds strong working relationships with co-workers to build trust and credibility within the organization.
    • Demonstrates a vested ownership of product commercialization and works to improve product launch process and time-to-execute in a fast-paced work environment.
    • Pro-actively manages and reports time-lines to keep project tasks on schedule.
    • Identifies risks/delays throughout project execution management and identifies opportunities to mitigate and manage risks effectively. 
    • Communicates and monitors any special testing and sampling needs for specific customers. 
    • Works in conjunction with product development and QA on product specification development.
    • Works cross functionally with product development to review product, perform sensory analysis, and analyze critical to quality (CTQ) attributes. 
    • Tracks and analyzes product CTQ attributes after launch of new product for trends and specification validation.  Creates Executive summaries of the above/dashboard building. 
    • Identifies process improvement opportunities, documents procedures and drives efficiencies. 
    • Leads special projects such as performing competitor/internal product reviews. 
    • Performs other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned. 


    • Bachelor's degree or 3+ year's experience in coffee or food quality systems. 
    • Previous work experience with product launch and/or project management preferred. 
    • Knowledge of Coffee Manufacturing required.
    • Previous experience in sensory techniques.
    • Demonstrated knowledge and application of statistical process control, quality assurance techniques and tools and quality management principles in a food manufacturing environment.
    • Experience working directly with customers preferred. 
    • Experience in writing and reviewing processes, auditing requirements. 
    • Previous experience using Microsoft Project preferred. 
    • Understanding of Certification programs such as Kosher, Organic, RFA preferred. 
    • Demonstrated strong presentation and verbal articulation skills required. 
    • Strong PC proficiency to include MS Office, and knowledge of statistical software programs. 
    • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.  
    • Able to employ effective problem solving skills. 
    • Self-starter, able to manage multiple concurrent projects, manage their own deadlines, and be the source of information on new product launches. 
    • Possess a strong attention to detail. 
    • Establish high standards of performance for self. 
    • Makes decisions based on logic, and factual information.

    • Ability to learn and understand FDA, SQF, FSMA, Organic and Kosher requirements, as applicable.
