    The Litigation and Employment Counsel will be responsible for providing employment and labor law advice, managing the company’s controversies and dispute resolution, overseeing internal investigations, and supporting regulatory compliance.  This individual will provide legal counseling, oversee the resolution of disputes including commercial, employment and other litigation, prepare a wide variety of employment-related documentation, and prepare documentation as needed to keep the Board of Directors up to date on material litigation.


    • Provide legal advice to the company and to its subsidiaries in dispute resolution and employment and labor law.
    • Lead investigations and/or support investigations by HR personnel of potential misconduct by company employees or affiliates, as needed, including recommendations regarding discipline or other corrective actions.
    • Provide strategic advice on the management of litigation and other disputes, including union grievances mediations and arbitrations; coordinate responses to discovery requests, prepare/review filings, manage witnesses.
    • Research, draft, review, and negotiate a wide variety of labor employment-related documents, such as employment agreements, offer letters, policies, employment forms, training materials, and communications.
    • Learn and provide legal support for an area of regulatory compliance (other than SEC).
    • Manage external counsel and related expenses that may be engaged to provide support with respect to any of these areas described above.
    • Establish budgets and approve bills from outside counsel and other professionals.
    • Maintain knowledge of current legal issues.
    • Develop materials for and present to General Counsel and other senior executives as well as the Board of Directors.
    • Collaborate with team members to share learning and experiences obtained and drive colleagues and the company towards constant mutual
    • Manage a Paralegal
    • May perform other duties as assigned.


    • JD from an accredited law school, top tier preferred.
    • Admitted to the state bar and currently in good standing (Texas preferred but not required).
    • Minimum of 6 years of relevant employment and litigation experience.
    • Broad background in employment and labor law.
    • Experience with both commercial and employment litigation.
    • Experience with some area of regulatory compliance and experience responding to government investigations a plus.
    • Law firm experience required; in-house experience a plus.
