  • Overview

    The Supplier & Co-Man Quality Manager is responsible for the development enhancement and maintenance aspects of the Co Supplier & Co-man Quality program.  Responsible for the development or enhancement of program aspects, engagement during new supplier evaluation, on-site audits and direct interface with critical suppliers in terms quality, troubleshooting of quality related issues and providing consultative quality input.

    Responsibilities

    • Maintain the Supplier Qualification/Approval process for quality and associated paperwork in support of the system.
    • Support the evaluation and risk categorization of suppliers based on key performance metrics including audits, quality objectives, and complaints. 
    • Perform on-site supplier audits for supplier and co-man/contract manufacturers. 
    • Responsible for tracking supplier audit corrective actions and verifying the effectiveness. 
    • Identify supplier compliance issues; help to resolve issues in a timely manner. 
    • Analyze supplier related defect data to determine root cause. 
    • Partner with Purchasing/Procurement and R&D to continuously improve supplier relationships. 
    • Monitor key performance indicators and provide required metrics to senior management. 
    • Partner with functional leaders to ensure alignment in identification of risks and projects associated with contract manufacturing organizations and other types of suppliers. 
    • Interact frequently with functional peer group managers. 
    • Identify and manage continuous improvement projects with the objectives of achieving quality, reliability and cost improvements. 
    • Ensure co-manufactured products meet manufacturing and customer specifications. 
    • Provide leadership, consultation and direction to contracted sites on quality, food safety issues, and complaint resolution. 
    • Develop/track supplier quality metrics that drive decision making including first pass compliance, customer complaints, etc.
    • Implement best in class supplier quality management processes that drive improvement. 
    • Manage supplier quality technicians. 
    • May perform other duties as assigned. 

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor of Science Degree (i.e. Engineering, Chemistry, Microbiology, etc.).
    • 7+ years of experience working in the area of quality and food safety within a food manufacturing environment. 
    • 3+ years of experience conducting internal or third party audits. 
    • Significant experience in quality assurance/control, operations, analytical or other technical functional area. 
    • Cross functional experience with the ability to interface with multiple groups to develop and implement Quality Management Systems (QMS).
    • Significant experience and knowledge of GMP, and food ingredient quality control systems, and HACCP.
    • Strong planning, organization, and time management skills. 
    • Establishes high standards of performance for self and others. 
    • Strong Communication skills:  written, and verbal. 
    • Knowledge of Word Processing software; Spreadsheet software; PowerPoint; and general email writing and online research skills. 
    • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. 
    • Strives for continuous growth and improvement.
