    Farmer Brothers has an exciting opportunity for a Route Sales Specialist (RSS) who will provide field training to Route Sales Representatives (RSRs) and entry level sales people. Works with DSD Management to gain knowledge of training scenarios, and facilitates a variety of on the field training requirements to support the further development of RSRs and entry level sales people. Provides first-class customer care service to all customers.

    Responsibilities

    • Sells the organization's products and/or services by interacting with established customers and developing new prospects within an assigned territory/geographic area.

    • Support consistent training/certification processes, annual/key initiatives, and the “Farmer Brothers Way”; New Hire Training; and support District Sales meetings.

    • Uses active listening and communicates effectively with customers or management.
    • Identifies new opportunities and pro-actively works to grow the business.
    • Builds rapport and cooperative relationships with customers and peers.

    • Responsible for coaching and influencing peers.

    • Delivery of product to customers.

    • Up-selling product lines to customer base.

    • Considers customer's needs and helps resolve customer dissatisfaction and/or problems.

    • Perform minor repair/maintenance of service equipment.

    • Pick/pull customer product orders.

    • Provide support to the branch and local customers.

    • Collect Accounts Receivable from customer base.

    • Manage invoices, inventory and collections on a daily basis.

    • Increase sales volume in all categories and product lines.

    • Provide customer feedback/requests to management or inter-departments.

    • Create a system to fulfill all promises made to customers.

    • Responsible for running route relief as needed.

    • May perform other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing preferred. High School Diploma or equivalent required. 
    • 3+ years of route delivery experience in a related customer service business-to- business field.

    • Willing and able to travel up to 50% of time to regional branch locations.

    • Proficient in accessing customer needs
    • Experience with field training preferred.
    • Knowledge of adult learning theory is preferred.
    • Previous supervisory experience preferred.
    • Knowledge of foodservice industry.
    • A clean and safe driving record.
